I have always wanted to spend some of the holiday season in Europe. This year it appears I will finally get that wish. We are planning to spend ten days between Prague and Budapest this year. We are planning the two weeks prior to Christmas. I know it will be cold and also know the day light hours will be short. But we are looking forward to our time there. I have been to both cities in the spring and know they can be crowded with lots of tourists, especially Prague and I am a tourist so I don't mind this. We were just wondering what to expect during the early holiday season. Also if any of our VT friends will be in the area we would love to see you. We will be in Prague for five days starting Dec. 9 and then on to Budapest for 4 days.

1) Which PART OF THE CITY world be advisable to rent the apartment in? (bearing in mind we'd like to have 1. PUBLIC TRANSPORTsport nearby, 2. and discos or clubs, 3. restaurants and bars, 4. Supermarkets, or some of them, the most important is public transport)
2) Which PLACES do you recommend us to go in order to HAVE FUN (like discos etc.)
3) Any RESTAURANT or CLUB we shouldn't miss?
4) Any CULTURAL ACTIVITY (tours, museum, concert, theatre play...) we could go to?
5) Finally, we think it be good to spend one day in Karlovy Vary, because I've heard it's really beautiful. Is there any other PLACE WE SHOULDNT MISS (village, etc.)?
Hello, we are a group of 10 teens (17-18 years) that we are going to travel ten or nine days to Prague next summer (13 to 23 June approximately), but we do not know how to organize the trip. We would like it to be cheap, as it is our last trip before university and the budget is small, and we would also like to party (in plan discos and pubs), in addition to go to museums etc. The problem is that on the internet most companies sell flights for 9 people maximum, and we are 10: (. Oh, and we would also like to be in an apartment well situated. So, all in all, we want to know what we can do to travel the ten of us together by buying tickets together and if we can go to discos and parties in Prague with less than 18 years (half of us will be 17). Thank you very much.
I am seriously considering this of May 2016. I will be flying out of the U.S. Anyone been there and would like to share their experiences from planning to visited monuments, hotels you used, immunization, visas, etc.? I really don't want to book my flight now, but my miles with United expire at the end of this year, thus no choice. Thanks a bunch.

I am planning to visit Prague(Czech Republic) in mid of August. Similar question I had asked for Krakow as well. But VirtualTourist not allowing me to mention multiple places while posting a question, hence I am posting this new question for Prague as well. Please help me to figure out places/shops/markets/areas in PRAGUE from where I would be able to buy cheaper yet trendy fashionable women clothings and accessories.
I don't want high street brands but inexpensive stylish women clothings.
Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions :)
Hi, My husband and I are traveling to Prague next month and wanted any insight on some non-touristy things to do. We have interests from art/architecture/landscape/ to craft beer to military history (that is definitely my husband!). We will only be there for 3 days.
I've been there once before, but he has not. And it was over 10 years ago since I went so i have forgotten most of what we saw (pre-digital camera days)...we walked around a lot, saw a lot of cathedrals and went to many bars and clubs. However, we are not the club going types anymore (late 30's/early 40's, been there and too old for that. LOL) We do enjoy nice meals, pubs, and seeing unusual and beautiful scenery. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, We will be in Prague in June. We were wondering if there is somewhere nearby that is nice to ride bicycles to for half day or so. A relaxing pretty ride through country, not busy roads or industrial areas. Maybe a lake or a river or a small quaint village or town. Also need a recommendation on where to rent the bicycles. Thank you.
I am travelling to Prague during these dates and I'm currently making my reservations. Would like to know if anybody would be in Prague at that time and if so, would love to catch up with you and go sight seeing :)

Is there good train service between Prague and Nuremburg? Would bus be better?
Or a private car? There are 4 of us and we're going to Nuremburg to board a river
cruise so we're trying to figure it all out. What we'd like to do is do some sightseeing
like the building where the Nuremburg trials were, have a nice local lunch, and then
head to the pier by 5p for the boat. Or maybe a bit more sightseeing depending on
our time. Any help and advice GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance.
I’m an elderly female travelling solo to Prague (PRG) in late May and will need to take a taxi from the airport to my hotel (in the newer part of the city). I’ve heard that some taxi drivers are unscrupulous, and wanted to know if there is an “official” taxi rank at the airport which offers reliable transport, and if so, where I might find it and approximately what I should expect to pay; also what is it customary to tip.
Sorry if this isn't the best place to ask this question, but I'll be traveling alone next week (14th - 21st of April) and I was wondering if there are any tourists or locals who would be willing to hangout.
If you're interested, reply or send an email at email@example.com

Is there any interesting day trip from Prague, which can be taken by public transport? I know that I am there only for 4 days and chilling out in City
i.e. walking, visiting cafes, ejoying the atmosphere of the charming city etc are the main attractions. But wanted to find out if there is anything I should/must try to accomodate while I am there.
Main interest for my boys is train/trams or boat journeys.
