Hi. I have a family member who was very recently widowed. She and her husband traveled to Italy frequently and they loved Posantino. He was cremated and she wants to scatter his ashes there. I will not be able to travel with her but I would love to have a gift available for her when she arrives to the special place. Some kind of memorial stone or possibly a tree planted in his memory. Also, he was an extreme wine enthusiast. Is there a way to have a special wine made in his name or a vinyard named after him?
Your request is rather unusual but not unique, in the most part.
I would not know where to start with a presentation of flowers, as I would not know who could present them, nor from which source.
However, to scatter ashes officially, you will need permission from the Mayor's office in Positano.
The current mayor (sindaco) is Michele de Lucia and he can be reached by telephone at:
0039 089 8122511.
The local commune's website is en.communi-italiani.it/065/1...
Italian authorities tend to want forms completed for just about everything, so be prepared for some paperwork.
However, raising a memorial is a different matter altogether.
I would be surprised if permission is given for this.
