we want to rent a car in Porto for 8 days to leave it in Lisbon...touring the Douro Valley, etc. What companies do you recommend? jack
in case you'll be in Porto as a base, mind that it's very hard to park in Porto, in case look also for a place where to leave the car.

Renting in Lisbon or Porto to deliver in the other city is difficult and, if possible, very expensive. Travelling by train takes less than three hours, and costs less than fuel and tolls between cities. Why not renting a car in Porto, and if needed, a second one in Lisbon? Most tourist attractions in Portugal (including the ones on the way) are less than one hour driving from one or the other cities.
