Are there camping sites you can recommend in or near Portoroz? We are looking for one that accepts camper vans.
Can't recommend anywhere specific, but the excellent official Slovenian tourist info site has a search engine which lists all campsites: slovenia.info/?_ctg_namestit... Click on 'campsites in Slovenia' in the left-hand menu. You can book through the site (which is in English). There is only one campsite listed for Portoruz itself: Avtokamp Lucija It does cater for camper vans. Their website is in Slovenian only, but if you google the name you can use the translate option to get an idea.

there are only two camp sites in slovenian istria and they are both fairly small and do not have the facilities of most campsites you normally see in europe, but i have seen campers there. they are both pretty mush sitting "on top of portoroz" on the hill above town and they are 2-3 kilometers from town.
