by Gilis Online Now Jan 9, 2011 at 7:21 AM

Hi!

planning to fly to Portofino by the end of January. Just wondering if although it's winter its still possible to sightseeing Specifically
(1) are the walking trails closed;
(2) are ferries are running;
(3) are pubs and restaurants open

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

    Walkingtrails ?
    When you talk about the path up to Castello Brown YES, it will be open and the Castle will also be open as well for visitors
    Ferries ??
    NO, they will not be going in winter, BUT the local bus will go all year from Sta. Maria Ligure
    Bars & Restaurants ?
    The bars where the local People go will be open, but I am sure that most of the expensive Restaurants will be closed in wintertime, as they have a hard time to find lots of guests even in summertime, due to their Prices, that are "up in the sky"

    take a look here:
    http://www.castellobrown.com/visita.php
    according to this Webpage the castello seems to be open all year round from 10.00am till 07.00pm:
    it is a pity that everything is just in italian !

    the weather in this part of Italy is quite mild and you will hardly find a strong winter there, so mostly no snow at all or just a bit of snow melting away shortly after falling.
