    The nearest station to Portofino is Santa Maria Ligure, around 30 minutes by train from Genoa. From there you will need bus 82:

    tigulliotrasporti.it/cartina...

    or taxi to Portofino (it's not too far).

    The CT villages are all easily accessible by train.

    There is a shuttle bus to Genoa station from the airport. Info and timetable here:

    airport.genova.it/v2/index.p...

    You can find train times, details and fares in English here:

    trenitalia.it/homepage_en.ht...

    You can ferry timetables and rates in English here;

    navigazionegolfodeipoeti.it/...

    Finding a parking place in that area is a bit of a nightmare, so you'd better use the public transports suggested in leics's posting.

    If you are going to be in Portofino, then renting a car is very expensive for parking in Portofino, a no car port town. If you are staying in Santa Margherita Ligure, many of the hotels do not charge for parking, and there is more to offer from Santa Margherita in a week. You can go to Portofino for a drive of only a few minutes and stay as long during the day or night as you wish, but there is a big difference in price between Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Regina Elena with an excellent view of the bay, close to town, no parking fee and free access to beach. See their website: reginaelena.it/en/home-page....
