Hi! planning to fly into Milan during 2nd week March, to visit portofino, 5 terra and como. Just wondering if the winter-spring transition will change anything? Specifically (1) are the walking trails closed; (2) are ferries on lake como running; and (3) If I drive from Milan to these places, will I still run into traffic jams, like those in summer? Grazie in advance!
1) when you are talking about 5terre : I have done it in march 2003 and everything was open, but less tourists. In summer you might have a few more ships from places like Genua etc. to 5terre, I think its better to take the train 3)Around Milan you certainly have jams all year long !
