Foz do Iguaçu Apr 20, 2014 at 4:53 AM

Hello, is there a way to book a bus ticket instead of flying from Sao Paulo to Foz do Iguacu, Brazil side. I would be coming from the Paulista area and staying in Parana of Foz do Iguacu. If i can buy a ticket online how far in advance can I purchase it? What is the approximate cost? If not, how far in advance should I buy it in person and where is the terminal located? I don't mind about travel time since I am not in a hurry.

      Taxi or airport bus?

We are a family of 5 (parents with 3 teenagers). We need to get from GRU to Congonhas. Will it be more convenient to take airport taxi or airport bus? In most places we have gone to, the individual cost for the bus is sometimes just the same as for a taxi and the taxi seems to be quicker. Thanks.

I'm travelling to POA in October and have visited a travel doctor for an advice. They really recommended the Hepatitits A vaccine and yellow fever vaccine. I can't get the yellow fever one as I'm pregnant and that's also a reason why I don't really want the Hep A vaccine either if it's not totally necessary. Has anyone heard there would be some cases in POA of either yellow fever or hepatitis A? With the hep A - from what I'm reading on-line the restaurants seem to be very clean. Is the water chlorinated and safe to drink?

      Thank you:-)

I'm working on an organic farm (really an Ecovilla and Permaculture site) outside of Buenos Aires curently. I was hoping to find a school where I can study Portuguese near Molinos do Vento as well as a place to stay there - either a homestay or nice hostal. I'm also an English professor so I was considering teaching English there and just trying to learn what I can while doing that. I'm interested being a volunteer in social and environmental programs as well. Porto Alegre looks gorgeous! Much thanks,

      Porto Alegre questions

I am thinking about leading a team of volunteers from Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for poor residents of Ilha Grande dos Marinheiros. My understanding is that Ilha Grande is close to Porto Alegre. Is that correct? How far apart are they?

I know nothing about Porto Alegre, so I need as much information about what the city is like, how easy it is to get around, how safe it is, what kinds of things there are to do, and whether there is anything nearby where we could take day trips (cultural sites, archeological sites, beaches, museums, beautiful nature, etc). Any help you can give me would be much appreciated. Thank you.

      Good day everyone,
I am new to this forum and just have a couple of questions on moving to Porto Alegre. My girlfriend is from Porto Alegre and I've traveled there now twice. I absolutely love the place and would like to move there permanently. I was wondering if any out there has any advice for someone like me. I am currently finishing my Masters of Accounting in Australia and was thinking of getting a job with a firm like KPMG. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science degree from a Uni in Canada(my home country). I would like to know how easy is it to find a job in Porto Alegre, possibly with an accounting firm or maybe transferring offices with KPMG (if that is possible)or even with a multinational organization. I can speak English, French and German and am in the process of learning Portuguese. Any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
      Thanks in advance,
