Hi, my boyfriend and I are taking a cruise and one of our stops is Portalnd. We are trying to venture out and take our own tour. We will be docked from 10am to 7pm. Considering our short time frame what sightseeing is most recommended, best place to eat, and best tour to take? Thanks!
There are a few museums you can visit in downtown Portland: Longfellow House (mainehistory.org/house_overv..., Victoria Mansion (http://www.victoriamansion.org) and Portland Museum of Art (http://www.portlandmuseum.org). Portland Headlight is also one of the regions's main attractions (http://www.portlandheadlight.com). If you're not tired of being out at sea, it's also possible to go on a sailing cruise around the bay. There are lots of seafood restaurants located on Commercial Street, DiMillo's floating restaurant (dimillos.com/restaurant/inde... is one of the most popular. Hope this helps!
