    www.ehow.com/how_7199_married-cruise.html

explains that, for the most part, you can NOT get married while at sea on a cruise ship. With few exceptions, you have to get married in a port.

    maine.gov/portal/family/marr...

explains how to get married in Maine.

    www.portlandmaine.gov/voter/cityclerk3.asp#marriage

is specifically for the city of Portland. The two of you can file your Intention "in any municipal office" for30 -- figure that it will be cash ONLY. You will still need to find someone to record the marriage, although it appears that a notary can do so (kind of lacks romance, IMO). Again, figure you will have to pay cash.

You mention "re-married," so you must have a SEALED copy of the document proving that any previous marriage is over. If you say you were previously married but have no legal proof that this marriage has ended, you can not get a license to wed in Maine. If you commit perjury about previous marriages on your Maine marriage application, this legal document may be invalid. Don't take any chances, tell the truth and bring any needed documentation.
