Is Bayworld up and running....?
I've been accepted to study at Nelson Mandela University, PE for 2013 and will be bringing my son who is in the 5th grade. I am looking for suitable and safe neighborhoods we could live in. My son's father is very concerned about crime and racism...is it really THAT bad in PE? I've read that there is crime and also that PE is known as the "Friendly City." Any information you can give me for perspective that I can share with him would be great. Thank you so much for your help. ~jodi
Folks, I am having an impossible time trying to find a town and hotel for a quick night stay between PE and Durban. Umtata seems as if it might be the best, but I can't find a list of hotels. I've heard there are many, but, I need feedback as to whether Umtata would be suitable mid-way point, and any site you can direct me to with a comprehensive list of hotels. OR, if you have suggestions, I would so appreciate it. Thanks greatly...

Hi, I'm looking for children's swimwear. On holiday in Jeffreys Bay at present but can't find anything below R395 - all of them are surfer brand names. Department stores have NOTHING as they have started to unpack their winter range. Please suggest some stores in PE that might be able to help - the kids want to swim desperately and have nothing to wear!

Hello yes, me again :-D. Ok, so still pondering what to do when we get to PE, but have got a few weeks to figuer that one out still, but I am also struggling with our stopover locations as we drive from Cape Town to PE. I almost know the guidebook off by heart, and I've looked on countles websites, but there are so many fab places to stop, but we can only make 3 stopovers, and one of those will definately be Hermanus/Gansbaai. So, the other two... Knysna looks lovely, but it looks a long drive from Hermanus to Knysna. Am I right in guessing it will take between 3-4 hours to drive from Knysna to PE? And, where do you recommend we make our other stoppover? I'm sorry for all the questions - the more I try and research it myself using the guide books, the moer confused I get. thanks
Hi, My husband & I will be spending one night in Port Elizabeth, in early May, after driving along the Garden Route from Cape Town, before catching a flight to Johannesburg. We'll be arriving sometime in the afternoon, and our flight will be the following afternoon, so looking for somewhere not too far from the airport (although we will have a car, so maybe up to half hour drive?) - pref. by the coast. Unfortunately, dont think we will we have much time to explore Port Elizabeth itself on this occasion, but somewhere with a nice restaurant as well would be good. Any area, or hotel recommendations much appreciated :-)
Hi We will be in PE visiting my folks over December. It is our wedding anniversary during this period and I would like to take my wife somewhere special to eat and even stay over. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We both love the outdoors.

Hi Folks! I'm planning a trip with grandparents and two teenagers and would welcome suggestions. We plan to fly into Port Elizabeth Dec 21st 2005. We would like to spend a few days in or around PE (Almost a local, right?) and then drive south to Cape Town, taking our time - get there by Dec 27th to meet up with friends. What would you recommend - restaurants, game parks, sights, excursions, places to stay (B&B looks good), people to meet. Any ideas for Christmas day would be really welcome!
