    • Safari through the northern circuit in June-self organised

      Tanzania Jun 9, 2013 at 7:43 AM

HI, i want to go on a safari tour. Therefore I would like YOU to join me. I plan to rent a car likely together with a driver to be flexible and to be able to change plans during the tour just as we like. Especially I would like to insist on getting up early to start the game drive in the Nationalparks as soon as possible and make also full use of the evening ours. In this point it would differ from the organised tours by tour operators. Furthermore I would prefer to stay in the serengeti not only in the crowded seronera camp but also one night in the northern Ikuma Campsite, close to the grumeti river. I have already two offers about renting a 4 wheel drive car with 6 seats and pop-up roof together with the driver, his salary, his food, his camping stuff, his camping and entrance fees for 80 Dollar per day. I would like to share these costs as well as the fuel costs and the entrance fee to the Ngorongoro Crater (200 Dollar PER CAR!). I am interested in visiting all national Parks of the northern circuit, means Arusha NP, Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. This would gonna be an at least 8 days tour but I am also happy if YOU join me for a part of this tour. I plan to do Night Game drives and walking safaris, which causes extra costs. I am looking for somebody who join me in june on this trip because the park fees are higher from July on. I guess this way it could become a great and affordable trip, looking for YOUR RESPONSE.

    • 6hr evening transit; restaurant recommendations?

Dar es Salaam Jun 10, 2013 at 9:00 AM

      Hi

Next month, we are transiting back thro Dar - arrive 16:15 on domestic flight and leave 22:55 on Amsterdam flight.
      It is a Thursday.

I am guessing that Julius Nyerere Airport does not have much to occupy us or somewhere nice to eat. Can anyone tell me if we have time to go into central Dar for dinner and if possible recommend a nice place?

      Thanks

      Nick

      Visa

Zanzibar Island May 25, 2013 at 3:38 AM

Is it possible to purchase a Visa upon arrival at the airport and if so what is the cost please. I don't fancy having to travel from Edinburgh to London just to get a Visa then go home again.

      My thanks in advance

    • Pongwe cuisine

by tuktuker Online Now May 16, 2005 at 2:48 PM

I am looking at spending a week at Pongwe Beach Hotel. I realize that it is a small quiet place with no pool. I was wondering if anyone has anything to say about the restaurant there. It is supposed to be one of the better places in the area. Thanks :)
