Where to stay on the western side of Naples

Our family wish to stay outside of Naples and preferably to the west. We will drive to Pompei and Vesuvius and train it into Naples one day. Can anyone recommend a beach resort please? Many thanks in anticipation.

    Have you checked out places in the Pozzuoli area already? What about the island of Ischia for beaches?
