Kathmandu - Pokhara Flight

by joecooper Online Now Apr 11, 2009 at 5:51 AM

Hi there, I'm arriving in Kathmandu at 15:25 and need to get a flight to Pokhara that day as I am starting a rafting trip the next day first thing. I've had a look at a few airlines mentioned in the LP guide and on google but they are either no longer operating or don't have any departures past about 15:20! I know I can get a bus but would much prefer a flight, are there any airlines anyone is aware of which might be suitable? Thanks very much!! Joe

Hi Joe I don’t think that you will be able to get a Kathmandu – Pokhara flight the same day as you land – 15.20 being the last flight and that is from the domestic terminal !! . So – catching a bus, It would have to be a local one and having done that Once myself wouldn’t really recommend it, it takes about 8 / 10 hours and a bit of an uncomfortable experience, especially after a long-haul flight. So, My suggestion would be to organise a private car to be waiting to pick you up at the airport, this would cost you little more than the flight and only take about 6 hours. If you need some pointers how to do this then look at my Nepal transportation tips. I hope that helps a little but If you need more info then feel free to drop me another line Happy Travels Rob
