      Cruise terminal

      Oahu Mar 22, 2015 at 5:41 PM

Taking a cruise in May. Is it best to book the ground transportation with Norwegian ($60 pp!) or take a taxi from the airport to the cruise terminal? How easy will it be to get a taxi and what is the approximate cost?

      Turtle Bay Resort

      Kahuku Mar 22, 2015 at 5:37 PM

Really want to stay here post-cruise. Pretty pricey. Do you think you can get a better rate if you just walk in without a reservation or is it usually pretty booked up? I'm assuming I'd need to rent a car? Any suggestions on the best/least expensive place to rent a car? Should I rent one before travelling or get one when we get there after the cruise?

Public Bus Service to Pearl Harbor and return?

      Honolulu Mar 5, 2015 at 6:44 PM

I'm having trouble working out the online bus timetable for Honolulu. I understand that RTE #42 goes passed Pearl Harbor and this route is close to our hotel. I found a bus on the timetable which goes passed timing point 'V' (near our hotel) at 8:13am on a weekday and arrives at timing point 'Q' (Arizona Memorial) at 9:17am but I cannot find a #42 bus leaving Pearl Harbor and returning to Waikiki. Can anyone help me solve my confusion?

    • Road to Hana or road from Napili to Kahului?

      Maui Mar 5, 2015 at 9:16 AM

We are staying north of Lahaina and are wondering which of these routes would serve us best for sight seeing. We are allowing a full day for this journey. Other friends have recommended the Napili to Kahului route, although most seem to talk about the Hana trip. Thoughts?

      Turtle Bay Beach Villa

      Kahuku Mar 22, 2015 at 5:43 PM

Want to stay here - I saw that you can rent one of the beach villas for virtually the same price as a room at the resort. I understand the only thing you can't use at the resort is the pool and of course there is no maid service. Has anyone rented one of the villas or stayed at the resort?

Looking for a clean, bright, cheerful condo on the ocean in Poipu. Just a one bedroom as my husband and I are going alone for a second honeymoon. Also, any suggestions for a romantic area to renew our vows?

    • Access to pools/resorts

by jmdjmd Online Now Jul 26, 2004 at 12:54 AM

Greetings, My fiance and I will be staying in a condo in the Poipu area (Kuhio Shores) this October -- the condo complex does not have a pool on its grounds as far as we can tell. Are there weekly or day guest passes at local resorts with pools in case we'd like to take a dip? How do the larger resorts allow access? wristbands, room keys? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

      Kuhio Shores

by kiko456 Online Now Jul 18, 2004 at 1:21 PM

My family and I will be visiting Kauai next year for the first time. We are thinking about staying at Kuhio Shores. It appears to be a very nice place to stay and right on the water. Any past experiences would be appreciated! Mahalo

      Popoi??

by sandy5 Online Now Jan 18, 2004 at 10:40 AM

I am going to Kauai for the 1st time in May. I have been to Maui before and loved it. I have heard how nice Kauai is and presently looking through brochures and internet sites to find out about where to stay. I think I have it narrowed down to Poipu and maybe the Sheraton. Where are most of the restaraunts and things to do. Otherwords what would be the heart of the island if any?I understand there is more chance for sunshine on the south side of the island which is something I want. Also I plan on playing golf there. Thanks

    • Kauai Weather in early December.

by George_Shaw Online Now Jul 25, 2003 at 8:31 AM

I am planning on visiting Kauai in December, and I have read that the North Shore (Princeville) receives more rain than the South Shore (Poi'pu). My question is does more rain in December mean lots of overcast skies and constant rain throughout the day? I'm really the "bright sunshine" guy who loves lush greenery (not just beaches) but want to make sure that I don't get stuck/caught in rainy days (complete washouts!) in Princeville. Thanks, George
