the main thing is that Aug is incredibly hot and humid, which is dif in the tropics than hot and humid in Omaha. of course, I would presume that you are fit and healthy, with NO medical issues even tho pregnant.

I am afraid I can offer nothing in the way of assistance re: Mexico as I have not yet visited that country. Perhaps, however, you could assist me. What in the name of all under the sun is a "babymoon"? I'm tryng to make a reaseonably educated guess given the other information supplied but it genuinely is a term I have never heard before.

I would only drink bottled water--including for brushing your teeth!!! while i was pregnant we went to visit my inlaws on the mexican border and I absentmindedly brushed my teeth with regular water and freaked out!!! we did our baby moons in new york city for the first one and las vegas for the second--its a trip parent pregnants take before their lives change forever with a little one!

Thanks for that, I had sort of guessed given the context but, as I say, not a phrase I have heard before. As I have remarked here on more than one occasion, every day is a school day on VT.

Tulum is amazing and is really a beautiful site to see. We went a year or two ago in September and it was SOOOOO hot. My husband and I call it "the hottest day of our lives" because we were just dripping with sweat and we did not bring any water. If you go you should wear your swimsuit under a shirt and shorts because there is a beach you are able to swim in. Everyone was in it because it felt so nice during the hot day. There were some areas that were shady, but you will most likely be in the sun for a while. Again, being by the water really was nice.

The Valentin is my favorite of all the places we've stayed in Mexico. We have also been to The Ocean Coral & Turquesa and The Now Jade. I thought the Valentin was more of an intimate, romantic resort and the food was a notch above the other all-inclusives. The entertainment is just okay at most of the places, but the Valentin had a casino night with an open market of locals selling their goods. Be sure to negotiate on the prices and pay in pesos whenever possible. The other resorts were also nice, it is jsut that preferred the service, drinks, beds at the Valentin. it is a little smaller, a little classier and didn't have loud music and activites going on around the pools. I think my better half would say he liked the Now Jade better because of the activity around the pools - lol! So, I guess it all depends on what you are hoping for. We've been to Xel-ha two times. My fiance' loves it there and would spend a day there each time we go! It can be a lot of swimming and exercise for the day, not sure how much of that you would want to do being 6 months pregnant :) But, that is only if you take the walking trail back to the beginning of the route. You can hop on an intertube and then get off and snorkel back. There are shady areas and also places you could get in and out for short periods. The food is great there as well! Tulum is beautiful and is well worth the trip. It rained on us the day we went. In August it will probably be very HOT! There is a beautiful beach at Tulum to swim, take your suit! And, if you like shopping for silver jewelry, the best place I have found is actually in the cancun airport in front of the food court. Check it out before you get on the plane to go back home ;) Hope that helps! Have a great Baby Moon!
