I was wondering what life is like for LGBT people in Cyprus, and particularly Nicosia. I will be living out there for a few years as a student and sharing an apartment with two others.

Okay so I'd like to celebrate my girfriend's birthday Thursday May 16th by taking her to a lounge/restaurant where slow live music is played (Jazz, Piano, even Mediterranean music) cozy atmosphere, intimate setting for couples, ROMANTIC! I'm looking to rent a furnished villa or apartment around Kato Paphos from the 23/9/13 to 23/12/13. The agents I've tried want to rent for 12 months or by the week, which is too expensive. I'm looking for 2/3 bedrooms with pool, and would consider all areas around Kato Paphos except Universal. My budget is up to 650 euros per month. Occupants are all pensionable age, so no noisy parties, myself and wife would be there all the period, and we're fit. With visits from relatives steep hills and steps could be a problem for one visitor, but not insurmountable. Anyone need to let out their property?
We will be in Cyprus over the New Year, and are considering staying in Pissouri. Can anyone advise on what restaurants will be open in the village as opposed to at the beach over the New Year.
