I'm coming to Pisa in about a week with a few friends. Can you please give us some suggestions of good restaurants to eat good Italian pizza and pasta and good bars with a fun or authentic ambiance? THANK YOU!!!!!

you can go to TRATTORIA IL CAMPANO Via domenico cavalca which is not far from where there's University library (Palazzo Sapienza - Building of Knowledge), it's not expensive. if it'll be the day off, no worry, there is also Pizzeria Montino not far but maybe better a little walk along the river, Lungarno Mediceo, there's a very nice Pizzeria called Mediceo.
At Campano try Pici all'anatra imbevuta al Brunello which is pasta with duck drown (overwhelmed) in Brunello during preparation, yes Brunello wine. They do them perfectly

Alexa, be adventurous and do try a few things other than pizza and pasta and pizza and pasta and pizza. Pizza is a snack, like a burger, not a meal. Pasta is a starter dish, not a meal.

I'm not sure what country you're from but I'm an American and a burger is NOT a snack, never has been. When you're not from Italy you don't generally have the opportunity to eat good pizza and good/real pasta so of course that's what I want to find. PLUS when you travel to a place you don't know you can run into tourist traps with ***ty food (pizza and pasta included). This forum is meant to help people, if you don't have constructive information please keep it to yourself :)

Alexa I am sorry you were offended. Italy has arguably one of the 10 best cuisines in the world. I was only suggesting that you tried several dishes. If you do it, you will see this could be constructive advice. Ps: I have been living in Italy since 1974.

Don't worry. My intention was never to eat ONLY pizza and pasta. I just didn't want to fall into any tourist traps.
