In early May we are sailing out of Piraeus but staying for a couple of days before in Athens, can anyone advise which is the best method of travelling from Athens to Piraeus and what sort of distance are we looking at. Thanks for your assistance regards
You can take the metro from Athens to Piraeus, about a 19 minute journey, and then walk to the ferry port. If you look in the Athens Forum, very recently there was similar question which was replied to in depth.

From the Monastiraki Metro Station in Central Athens to the Piraeus Station is less than 20 minutes. If you are taking a ferry to the Cyclades you will be very close to that particular dock as you leave the Piraeus Station.

Yep the metro takes you from central Athens to Piraeus in about 20 minutes and there is now an escalator and footbridge over the main road to the dock gates. Different ferries go from different parts of the dock and so make sure you know which you need to be - my Pireaus page has most of the travel info needed.
