Hello there! I will arrive in Piraeus port very early in the morning (5:30 am)by ferry from Chania. Is there already the free shuttle bus to the metro station? I want to go to Chalkida by train. Are there 2 different train stations in Piraeus? Or is one the train station and the other one is the metro station? What do I have to say to the taxi driver in case there is no shuttle bus? Thanks for your advise!
There is not a shuttle bus (I know, we walked for miles!!!). It is best if you ask the taxi driver for the metro or the train - they should know the difference. I don't have the information, but it may be worth checking out the Athens website to find out when the trains/trams start running. Hope this is helpful

From Piraeus port, the metro is just 3 minute walk across the street toward your left. I asked the clerk when they opened and her response was 5am. We plan to take the metro to Koloniki very early in the morning & put our luggage in storage until 4pm check-in.
