Absolutely - take the metro from Piraeus and 20 minutes later you will be in the heart of Athens.

    Pauline,

We were just there last month. It's about a 20 minute walk to the train station. For 3 Euro, you can buy an all day pass, and go to the Acropolis, the Plaka area, and the Archeological Museum with time to spare.

We found the train to be very easy, and the stations in Athens are spotless.

Here are some links to pictures of the train station and how to get there.

The Acropolis is the Thissio stop.
