I am planning a dinner at a restaurant in City Center Firenze with a group of friends on June 24. Some people have written back saying that June 24 is Saint Giovanni Day in Firenze. Is there anything I should know about that day in Firenze? Would it be a problem to go into City Center that evening?

I will be travelling by train from Rome to Florence, arriving well before I check in to my accommodation. Are there places I can store my luggage so I can start exploring immediately?
How long does it take to travel by train to Florence from Nice? Is it better to fly or take the train? I thought there was a hi-speed train going to Florence from France.
We are arriving in Florence by train (SMN station) and need to pick up a car to drive to our rented villa in Tuscany. I remember getting a car in Florence before (but can't remember the pick up location) that was not too far from the Autostrada toward Siena.
We need to reserve our car with Europcar, but don't know the best location to avoid the ZTL.
Also EuropCar has a mid-size car Alfa Giulietta (or similar) they say will seat 5 people. We have 4 adults traveling together: In past travels to Italy it was just my husband and me and we had plenty of room. Does anyone have experience with a mid-size car with Europcar?

How long does it take to get from Rome to Piombina in order to go to Elbe Island and what kind of transportation is needed? How long does one stay in Piombino and Elbe Island to visit and walk the beaches and whatever else there is to do. When is the best time to travel there? We would like to Visit Rome about 3 days, then Elbe Island for 2 days, then to Corsica for 2 days and then to Sardinia for 2 days and finally to Malta for 3 days. Can a person see these islands in that time frame or should it be more? Then back to Rome to fly home.
Hello, We will be arriving in Piombino by ferry from Olbia at approximately noon on July 12, and need to go to Montecatini Terme. Can anyone tell me how far the train station is from the ferry port? I have checker rail schedules and it looks like the first possible train is at 14:24, with two changes? Does this make sense? Can anyone suggest a better alternative? Thanks very much for your help.

We are taking the ferry from Piombino to Elba. The website says we should check in 90 minutes (we will have a car) before the departure time. Do we really need to get there 90 minutes before our departure time? Grazie.
