Has anyone shopped here? I was there is week and paid 450 Euro for a Bag. I was his Galileo bag. You can only get it there. Didn't really bargain with them because the store was so nice. Did I pay too much. I was going to buy a coat he offered to ship it for 850Euro. Should I bargain for this?

    • Day trips from Siena with kids

      Tuscany Jun 21, 2015 at 7:05 AM

We will be staying just outside of Siena for one week the first of Sept with our 10, 9 & 3 year olds. We will be coming from four fairly busy touring days in Rome and headed on to Venice afterwards. We want to make this week as relaxing as possible but still see & experience Tuscany. Husband & I love Lucca so I know it is on the agenda for one day but this is our first time to take the children. Any suggestions are most welcome.

    • Only 2-3 hours in Florence with Family

      Florence 12 hours ago

Hello All, Virtual Tourist has helped me a lot in the past with my trip to France and Switzerland. Here I am seeking out suggestions once again. God-willing I'm going to go to Arezzo for personal work next week and I intend to travel to Florence for half-a-day. Excluding the travel time I would spend just 2-3 hours in Florence with my wife and my one (1) year old infant. Please advise me the 1 or 2 best places to check out in Florence in this short amount of time. I know this duration is enough just to have a bite of any place. Please note that I am going to carry a stroller along with me for the infant. I want to avoid extremely crowded areas and unsafe areas. All suggestions are welcome

    • location of bus stop Nr. 128

      Certaldo Jun 28, 2015 at 1:41 AM

Hi, could someone help me? I would like to know where is the bus stop Nr. 128 exactly?
We intend to travel to San Gimignano with this bus.
I saw its bus timetable that the bus stop is at V.Mazzini but next to it there is a train icon.
So I don't know if we should search for its bus stop next to the train station (as we walk through it) or 2 streets away from train station (at V.Mazzini).
      Thank you for the answer.

What are the names of some streets that should not be missed in a two hour visit (offered by my TOUR Co.)? I want to walk along the walls to get VIEWS. Should I visit Palazzo Piccolomini? Internet images show some quaint, beautiful streets? Thank you for help given.

by HenriettaStackpole Online Now Oct 8, 2010 at 7:23 AM

I'll be traveling in November and would like to go from Siena to Pienza. Leaving Pienza, I would like to continue on to Arezzo. I will not be driving and there is no train for this route. I am having trouble understanding how the buses work in this region. Could someone please assist?

      Many thanks!

by Marystaff Online Now Jan 30, 2010 at 2:20 PM

I love many of the shops in Pienza, and am trying to remember the name of one that sells decorative iron products of all sorts. It is on the main street in the pedestrian area. If anyone knows, please let me know.

All About Pienza (and a little bit about Siena!)

by SandiM Online Now Nov 14, 2009 at 10:06 PM

Are you familiar with Pienza and its surroundings? Here's what I need to know. My mother and I have a tight schedule for Tuscany in April 2010--we have 2 nights in Siena and after that, we want to leave by bus early on a Sunday morning to head to Pienza. Is it true there is realy only 1 (fairly direct) bus service (route 112/A) from Siena to Pienza and it leaves at 10:50am? Or are there any more buses leaving earlier on that Sunday morning? Once in Pienza, we only have 1 night there. So, in the afternoon after we check-in to our hotel, we want to SOMEHOW get down to La Foce (via Monticchiello) to snap some photos of the famous twisty road with the cypress trees, then go back to Pienza. The next morning (Monday), we'll take a bus to Chiusi to train it down to Rome (this part I think I got it right, we have to go to Montepuliciano by bus first, then transfer to a bus for Chiusi). So, how far is Pienza to La Foce? Is it walkable? (probably not). Are there places to rent bikes or motorscooters or a car in Pienza? Any online links? Last note: if the bus schedules are really that hard to navigate for Sunday's/Monday's, I will consider renting a car in Siena as long as I am able to return it in Chiusi. Any suggestions for rental companies? Mille gracie!

    • Trying to find the name and contact info of an art gallery store

by filmmakerdream Online Now Aug 7, 2007 at 5:41 AM

I was just in Pienza a few weeks ago and I brought a breautiful painted box from a small art gallery owned by a man. This gallery was entirely filled with just this man's paintings of the Tuscany region. He gave me his card with the contact info, but I lost it. I am wondering if anybody who frequently visits Pienza or lives there can maybe help me locate this place and find the contact info. I remember that it was located next to a souvenir shop and before the large square area with a cathedral.
