I have visited Piaam once, but briefly. I know that some of my ancestors lived there. My grandfather was Symen Grasman, my grandmother was Wypkje Lousma. (the U.S. astronaut, Jack Lousma is related) The records show they lived there, or in the area, about 1855. Does anyone have information about that family name.

Hi Fred My name is Harm de Jong. Two weeks ago my Dad and myself had an interesting meeting with Jack Lousma in Florida. My dad lives in friesland and was planning to make a trip to Piaam to do some investigation about Jack's family in Piaam (30 minutes away from his home). I'm living in Virginina Beach USA and flying back from the Netherlands Mrt 15. Maybe my dad can help you getting some information. Regards Harm de Jong
