Cycling in Siem Reap

by globetrotter77 Online Now Sep 20, 2006 at 12:01 PM

Has anyone rented a bike and cycled around Siem Reap (and the Angkor Temples)? Is it relatively easy and safe to do? Where can bike be rented (company names and details would be great!) and where should we visit?
Thanks in advance

We hired some bikes from our guest house, When you get to siem riep you will have no problems hiring bikes, just ask your hotel/Guesthouse for a recommendation and they will find you a bike easily, just remember to chain it up when you go exploring.
No problems with saftey in Siem Riep (or at least we had no problems), is the ride easy? depends how fit you are. It is not very hilly, however you will have to ride at least 20 to 30km per day, even more if you want to see all the temples.
