"Is300 (9300 Bhat) enough for one week in Pkuket? the place where I will be staying is only 100 bhat/ day." * Do you have a link for the place that is 100 baht a day in Phuket? At 100 baht a week you may end up paying more for transportation than the place where you are sleeping. Or do you mean 1000 baht a day? What time of year will you be in Phuket? Christmas/New Years time periods can be a little more expensive than low season. Remember, when women get in trouble in Phuket drinking too much alcohol is often part of the reason. You should be okay in Phuket unless you spend too much for partying. Have fun.

http://www.cheapcharlies.slowboat.org/ Keep in mind, this 100 bhat a day is for a bed in the 8-10 bed fan cooled dorm. a A/C private room is 400 bhat/day (I might upgrade to that) Fortunately, I'll be there August , low-season.

Who knows maybe someone else can use it in the future. Personally I would go for the private room. Pattaya is like Patong except for being bigger and cheaper for regular hotels and you can use a bus to get there in 2 hours from Bangkok. Local transportation in Pattaya is 10 baht. But beach at Phuket is much better. Always next time. Thanks for the link.

from sister site TA The hotel is located up a very steep hill. Most taxis try to charge an extra 100 bahts just to drive you up. Even walking up and down is a risk because of the blind curves in the road. It's at least a 20 minute fast walk on hazardous roads to go to the beach. You absolutely need a taxi or a scooter if you don't like walking too much. The jaccuzzi is cold water, you have to negociate clean towels . We had to Ask for pots and dishes for the kitchen. But, the owner is easy going! As he often answered us.. Y'a pas de souci. Stayed for onemonth because we reserved inadvance based on the pictures but would have left after two days just because of the hill! ********************** I've been to Phuket in August, hotels are much cheaper than usual, probably for 30USD you can find also an A/C room with breakfast included * two year ago I found a 3* in Kata Beach and there was also a pool * OK, you may spend a little more, but not only everything better, in any case get a private room where leaving your belongings when you'll be out.

Note that transportation isn't cheap in Phuket. There are limited "bus" (songtaew) routes to Phuket town and to some other beach areas. It takes you a long time to travel if you are not using a taxi, which can costs easily a few hundreds Baht for short distance. If you aren't a heavy drinker and don't plan on doing day tours, you should be fine.

After reading the bad reviews, I have to re-think ever to go there. The reviews are awful and looks like the owner is a stoner. Too bad, but then when CGF said it is on top of the hill, forgetabout it. I know those hills and even using a scooter to get there is a chore. Yes there are plenty of other places available, and I reather pay a little more for comfort even though I like the cheap stuff too. Too bad there is poor management. cheers tommy x
