Hello! I would like to know what it costs to eat an ordinary meal at a local restaurant, for example chicken? Thank you for your help.
At genuine local restaurants and cafes (not the tourist ones) my wife and I paid less than US$10 for both of us including 2 large bottles of local beer! Individual dishes such as chicken can start at less than US$1 and go up to US$2.50. This pricing is more prevalent in Phu Quoc than Ho Chi Minh city where there the restaurants are more familiar with tourists. If you seek out the local restaurants in the back streets of Ho Chi Minh city you will pay about US$15 for 2 people for a meal and dishes will be US$2-4.

At a local restaurant it is possible for 2 to eat for5 -10 USD, depending on lunch or dinner and how much alcohol you want to consume. Beach restaurants are only slightly more. Hotels are much pricier, but you have the option of wine, which can push prices up to30+ for dinner.
