Property does not get very good reviews, you might want to look at something else.

That's kind of a tough one without some more information. Thoughts... DownTown is pretty safe during the day and not too bad in the early evening, but I wouldn't go running around late at night. There is relatively little to do down there after sunset. The new light rail may be able to get you to a more resort like hotel for the same price and may even be heading out towards the new stadium. In general, I would guess you would pay50 each way on the cab, but you may see if super shuttle is running something for the games, or maybe there is a shuttle specifically for the games. (lots of people like to avoid the parking/traffic this way) There are very nice (relatively inexpensive resorts out on the west side of phoenix, and they often have shuttles from the airport (right next to downtown). The hampton inn we stayed at was very nice, and I think I paid around75/night. Hampton Inn Phoenix - I-10 - West You would need a vehicle though. Side note rental cars from the airport are VERY expensive. But other places around are far less. Hope this helps.

The west side of Phoenix's Downtown starts to get into a particularly bad area. That motel also kind of sucks. You should find something else, IMHO. I don't know what you mean by "Central Station." Do you mean the bus station? If so, the Greyhound depot is actually over closer to the airport. There is a Crucero depot on the east side of Downtown. Both can be accessed by the light rail. Which hotel you choose depends on your budget. There are a few hotels up Central Avenue that are great, but close to the100 range. I've stayed at an Extended Stay Deluxe up there a couple of times, and really like it, if only for the neighborhood. You may be better off staying out by the airport, for price sake, but not a lot of the airport hotels are close to the light rail. If you do look at airport hotels, stay away from anything on East Van Buren. Really bad area. Phoenix does have an extensive bus system though, and, if all else fails, you can use an airport hotel's free shuttle to get to the terminal, then take the airport's bus to the light rail station. A bit roundabout, but it's an option. Also, you should know that March is baseball spring training time in Phoenix, and hotels are difficult to obtain and have much higher rates than any other time of the year. hth
