Tempe Fantasy of Lights Parade

Can someone who's been there before tell me how early to show up to the Fantasy of Lights Parade if you want to snag a spot in front so you can see? The parade supposedly starts at 6:00. I have an 8 month old so I don't want to camp out there any longer than necessary. Thanks!

Can't say that I've been, but I can tell you that parking in Downtown Tempe is a bit of a nightmare. If you go, try to come in a back way, like down University or Broadway, and not come over the bridge from the 202 freeway, or up Mill from the 60. hth
