Cheap Hotels Downtown

Hi guys, An opportunity has arisen allowing me to visit Phoenix this weekend. I don't have much money right now, so I'm trying to find a budget hotel downtown - preferably within walking distance of bars/shops. Can anyone recommend a good, clean and cheap hotel. Something that's a short taxi ride away would also be acceptable. Thanks in advances for any info. Cheers, Lee
