According to this homepage canbypublications.com/cambod... there was a night bus service between Phnom Penh and Sieam Reap operated by Giant Ibis Transport. Unfortunately the operators homepage does not mention this service, so I suppose it is discontinued... Is there any other night service? Which way to travel you'd recommend to go from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap?
I am English, living and working in Germany at present, and from the beginning of January,(which isnt too far away),I will be travelling to Phnom Penh. If everything works out,my idea is to stay and consolidate there. I suppose I am asking the same old questions,but- Where do I head for initially in the city ?,and what are the chances of getting a job.? I have previous teaching experience, and also business english. I have the appropriate papers. Hope someone can help me initially to get started. I will be travelling alone. Many thanks for your interest. Kind Regards Crawford

Hi who’s is the economically best tour operators from Chennai(India) to Cambodia for a 5 peoples
We have just found out that it looks like our dates of travel to Phnom Penh 27-29th November coincide with the Bon Om Tuk Festival. We are early 60's and was a bit concerned about being there at this time even though I imagine it would be a great experience I know hundreds died some years ago. Is it also going to be difficult to get around and see Phnom Penh. We may have the opportunity to rearrange our dates a little bit either side. What would you recommend, is it worth being there or better to avoid .
Hi! I found Mei Hua Guesthouse and am contemplating whether this is a good place to stay during my trip. It's at 27, Monivong Blvd., Sangkat Boueng Kork. When I look at the map, it seems a bit far off from the centre but I would like to get an opinion as I have never been to Phnom Penh before. Is this a good location to stay or can I find a better place for the same price range (less than USD30 for a triple ensuite aircon room)? Also, when I reach the bus station from Siem Reap, is it better to arrange a hotel pickup? I am afraid that we may be brought on a ride to another hotel by the taxi driver. Thanks. Regards, Lilian
I would like to visit Oudong, suburban of Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the 7/12/201l alone. Questions: 1) Can I explore the important sites within 3-4 hours? or more? 2) When I reach the site, is it possible to see the site by foot? 3) Is it possible to take a local bus to reach the site? If you are visiting Phonom Penh and considering to visit Oudong, let me know, maybe we can share a taxi to get there. : )) Thanks

Am planning a 8-day trip to PP and SR in a few weeks' time, and am wondering if I should look for a tour guide for the whole 8-days, or if I should look for one in PP and one in SR, or if I pretty much can get around by ourselves. (both my husband and I are pretty adventurous and independent types!). Or perhaps just to sign up for tour guide for specific sights, eg Angkor Wat? If a guide is recommended, any suggestion? Thanks!!

My husband and I will be in Phnom Penh for a day before flying to Angkor Wat mid November. Are there any markets or stores in Phnom Penh where I can locate dolls dressed in typical Cambodian costumes? I collect dolls from the different countries I visit. I will have a few more days in Angkor Wat. Are there any markets or stores there, where I can purchase these dolls? Thanks for all your help!

I read a book recently by Douglad DeMarco called "From the Booth to the Bedroom" a great true story about an American becoming a famous DJ star in Cambodia. Maybe not for everyone as it does talk about his adventures with different girls but it is also a very reflective book about Cambodia. Has he written any other books?
Does anyone know the bus schedule time tables to Siem Reap? Thanks

Hi VT So the time has come closer for me to finalize my travel plans. I recently inquired at a school (CWF[Chat With Foreigners]) in PP to volunteer as a teacher. I had an interview today and got accepted as soon as I have my plain ticket ready. My mother... she say that she is scared for me to go. What is the political stand in Cambodia like at the mo? is there any reason for her to be "unsure"? Can anyone recommend a website perhaps? All input welcome Regards & happy traveling Jaco
hi vt, i am currently making itineraries for my upcoming travel plan this may, as i have 11 days in 2 countries in indo china. my first destination is cambodia, should be arriving in phnom penh and stayed there for two days, then depart to siem reap by 6 hours bus. spend another 3 days in siem reap, and still have around 4-6 days to be spent either in lao (vientiane) or myanmar (yangon). i checked map and distance wise it should be lao if i plan to take bus. if i decided going to yangon then i think i should take flight. so appreciate if anyone could recommend me: - if there is cheap aircon bus route from SR to vientianne/luang prabang? if there is, what's the company's name and also the rates and schedule? - same thing with flight fr sr/pp to yangon? - is the iteneraries doable? or do you have any other suggestion? thank's a million :))
Hi all I'm busy with a TEFL Diploma and just signed up to volunteer in Cambodia at CAF. I'm looking to travel real cheap. I can get a flight to Bangkok and need to travel to Phnom Penh a cheap as possible. Is it worth to try and hitch a ride? is it allowed? I can get a flight with airAsia for around 690 TBAH(on special) but would love to do some site seeing as well while in Bangkok (or Taiwan). Any input would be apreciated. Jaco
