Hello there and welcome to VT. What services exactly do you require from the tour operator? Accomodation? Travel within Cambodia or merely around Phnom Penh? I have been to Cambodia a couple of times and always found it perfecftly possible to travel without using tour guides. If you book your aqccomodation in advance online, you will find that most hotels / guesthouses, especialy the larger ones, will offer "travel agency" services for getting drivers, arranging bus tickets, excursions and the like. If you can give us a little more information on your plans whilst in Cambodia perhaps we can assist you further. Hope this assists, fergy.

I agree with Fergy’s recommendation that it’s perfectly possible to travel without using tour guides. Generally I travel alone and buy a guide book as company deciding not to use a tour company as they are more expensive. However on my last trip I decided to break the mould and try a guided tour and I hate to say it I would do it again and have seen the light. Yes it cost me more money but it was less stressful and I got so much more out of my valuable holiday time. I think I might be converted and would recommend you give it a go just once. From my research I found a couple of companies that specialize in Cambodia, Hanuman tours and See Cambodia Differently who look a bit more exciting.
