vaccinations

by Palauig Online Now Feb 13, 2006 at 3:21 PM

I am planning a trip to the Phils. in April. We will be going to more rural areas of Central Luzon. I am wondering if anyone that has traveled there got vaccinations. If so, which ones? Do you think that it is necessary. We are coming from the USA. Thanks for any suggestions.

Probably for malaria and hepatitis. I did the latter but you have to undergo a course of 3 vaccinations.

Nothing really serious to worry about, but if wish to be extra careful, I would recommend vaccination against typhoid fever, so you can pig your heart out :) Have fun!

malaria vaccine is only needed when you intend to go to palawan or the mindanao area. I'd recommend hepatitis A vaccine and polio vaccine instead. it's also good to have tb vaccination (in case you have not had one).
