Is it possible to do a day trip to Petra from Jewsralem? If so how do you guys best think I should go about it? I will be there in March so I have time to plan properly. Thanks
i think it´s doable but you will have a long day from jerusalem. if you decide to do so then you should do it thorugh a tour operator as the border crossing takes a while just like you have a long drive from the border to petra.

No. Do the math: 1 hour to the Allenby Bridge crossing, at least 2 hours crossing (could be more), 1 hour to Amman, 2 hours to Petra. That's 5-6 hours just getting there. You have to be back at the Allenby Bridge early (it closes no later than 8pm on the Israel side). That means that, under the best of conditions, you'll have 2-3 hours in Petra - not nearly enough to see a minimum amount of the site. And you'll be constantly rushed. You need an overnight in Petra.
