We are considering showing our product at this ATV event. Has anyone ever gone to one of these and how big is it really? I would need to rent an RV to stay at the site during it, so help there would be good. Either renting it there or in Pittsburgh where we land would be better. We would be showing lights to put on helmet so they can ride at night, so staying at the grounds would be best.
Planning to spend a day in early May photographing Eastern Penitentiary near 22nd and Fairmount. Looking for hotels in the vicinity in a "good" area. Want to avoid downtown traffic.
Can anyone recommend a nice quiet getaway spot in the Poconos for May?
How can i reach Wilkes barre from Philadelphia international airport?
How can I get frrom Wilkes-Barre Bus Terminal to Philedelphia 30th Street Train Station. I have asked a few people but to no no avail. I am hoping to get this information as soon as possible so that I may make plans accordingly, for I will be departing on January 10, 2013....Thank You
I'm a big fan of old time radio dramas. On many of them there are advertisements for a product called "Blue Coal". As a former mining engineer and avid student of history, I'm curious to visit the old sites of the "Glen Alden Coal Company". A little research has revealed that their operations appeared to be in small towns surrounding Scranton such as Nanticoke and Archbald. I'm wondering if any VT members know if there are any tours available of the old mines & mills or at least what's left of them? Robert W.
We want to go to New York for a day or two, someone said I could take a train. Will someone please give me details and directions if this is possible.
I am coming with a group of girls on Friday September 21 2012 and preferably wanted to go to a male strip club but most of the good ones are closed on Friday. So another option is a good nightclub that will play hiphop/ r&b music but a very mixed crowed. Please help as the 21st is only 3 days away.
Besides all the hiking and scenery I know there is mini golf and paddleboats but I am wondering what other kid activities are at Bushkill falls? I hear they are able to go "mining for gemstones" is this a fact?
We are driving through Appalachians via i76(Pennsilvania Turn Pike). Any lakes with transparent/clear water within 1 hour drive from the exits to have a good swim?
We are headed to Philly at the end of August to see a Phillies game. 2 adults, 3 kids 9,7,5. I'm trying to decide on a hotel but it will depend on getting around at night in Philly. I'm looking at a hotel in City Center near the Mkt. East Station or the Holiday Inn near the stadium. I prefer the City Center hotel but I'm worried about taking the metro (?) at night after the game. The Holiday Inn is in walking distance and it seems as though it's safe enough but the reviews on the hotel are not great. The third option is to simply stay wherever and driving to and from the game. Can anyone share their thoughts?
Hi! My husband and I will be taking our daughter to see the Wiggles at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA. I read that there are no hotels within walking distance of the theatre. Can you please recommend some that are close by? Also, how far is it from the Tower Theatre to Franklin Square? Thanks for your help! :-)
Hi, We are travelling down from Toronto in August. Can anyone recommend the best border crossing and also some nice small towns/laid back places to stay in Pennsylvania. We have heard Bloomsberg is nice - also we like the forest and walking etc. Many thanks, Peter
My friends and I who are now 18 are planning to take a roadtrip. We have been working on locations to visit and hotels to stay at and would like some input on both. Keep in mind we are 18 and want to try new things. While money isn't a large factor we aren't rich either and will be paying for the affair ourselves. Thank you in advance for any ideas or suggestions you have.
I will travel to the u.s. as a tourist and would like to use my smartphone(Samsung 1510 that uses the 3G) in USA , with a data package (100MB) --would be enough for 2 months). Please note that international roaming is too expensive in this case. I need these data packages, for example, to be able to use Skype. Guess the best in the sates are AT&T and T_Mobile? Can I, as a tourist use this service? I need to have an American address, not the address of the hotel? Can I make and receive local calls and SMS?How can I buy this service from Brazil? Need to change the cell chip? What is the cost? Which are the best companies to ask for? Thank you very much
Does anyone know of any interesting stops to make traveling from Wilkes-Barre Pa to Niagra Falls Ontario? Trying to make a mini vacation a little more interesting. This is my first post! Thanks
We are coming up for our first trip to Pittsburgh to cheer on the Pirates in a few weeks. Thinking of trying the "light rail" to the games. Any pros and cons?? Thanks, Lynn Burnett

Hello, I will be attending a convention the last week of March and would prefer to rent a studio or small apartment for that week. Can anyone recommend a reliable site for this, and also please tell me which area of town I should be looking for? Usually rentals are classified by neighborhoods and I don't know Philly! I've checked roomarama and airbnb, but didn't know where the places were located. Many thanks, Patti
I'll be going to the convention centre on Monday, a public holiday, and would like to know a safe place to park my car. I have a disabled sticker and am looking for a garage at a fair price, with enough space open my door fully. Don't really want an open lot. I would entertain parking further out (South Philly? and taking the metro in. Thanks
Hey guys - I'm doing some research for an art project and I'm curious if anyone can help me find some not-so-ordinary bathrooms to visit. They can be anywhere in the city, but preferably downtown somewhere. I know this is a unique request, but any help would be appreciated, thanks!
My friend and I are going in the spring, and we are taking the train from Philly to Harrisburg. Is there a way to get from there to Hershey, or should we rent a car?
I need to check and see if I take the commuter rail from Philly airport to hotel at 99 S. !7th St which is best route on a week day.
I'd like to travel to Egypt in May or June. I'd like to see the pyramids as well as take a Nile cruise. Any suggestions of small tour operators whom you'd recommend? I'm not the type of traveler who usually travels with groups. I am not a high- end traveler and prefer interesting experiences over fancy accomodations. And though I like to travel with most anyone, I wouldn't want to be the only middle-aged traveler in a group of college students. Your suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
I just found out there is a strong possibility that my husband (and us!) may have to relocate to Pittsburgh. I have never been and know nothing about it, so obviously will be reading a lot on the web. One thing I'm not sure about as I start looking for places to live is the neighborhoods: what are the "good" neighborhoods and which ones should we stay away from? I'd love something a little historic or possibly a neighborhood with restaurants and shops within walking distance. Thanks!!
If I am taking a train into 30th Street Station in Philly using Amtrak, can I then catch SEPTA to 1201 Market Street to where my hotel is located. At the Marriott?
Can anyone recommend a good vegan restaurant in Philly? Thank you in advance for your help! :)
I'm visiting the hospital and was told the inn at Penn Hilton in University Park is a short walk to the hospital. Is this correct and is this a safe area to walk around. Also in general is this area safe and does it have local stores and places to eat.
My girlfriend and I are planning a 5-day, 3-city vacation. The first two days are in Washington DC, the third is in Philadelphia, the fourth is in New York, and for the fifth we are going back to DC. We are not staying the night in Philadelphia, we are just stopping their for the day on our way between DC and New York, so we do not have a way to store our luggage and do not want to drag it around the city with us. Does anyone know if Amtrak has any lockers near the 30th street station that we can rent for the day? Any Must Sees/Dos and travel tips for DC and Philly are also welcome....
