We are considering taking a holiday in Penang at the start of September. Is this a good idea or would it be ruined by monsoon rains? Would Bali be a better idea?
I have been to both Penang and Bali three times, cannot remember which time of year but i did recall rainy days in Peneng so i just checked a weather site and unfortunately it states that in Sept Penang averages 400 mm rain (2nd wettest month), but Bali averages 30 mm for rain for the same month. However the temperatures are very similar. Therefore my vote would go to Bali. Hope this is helpful and enjoy your holiday whichever destination you choose.

Raining is not a problem in Penang. Most of the time we pray for rain. Penang is not a place that have extreme weather. You won't experience raining the whole week at a stretch.
