We will be coming to Malaysia in a few weeks time. Our plan is to travel from Penang via the Cameron Highlands and finish over the east side eventually going out to the perhensions. How long do you think it will take with a few stops

If you are arriving in KL, it takes a day to reach Cameron Highlands from KL. It takes a day to travel from Cameron to Penang and a day to travel to Perhentian. It is possible to drive all day and night from Perhentian to KL. So you can go in a loop without backtracking. So it depends how long you want to spend at each location and your mode of transport - local express bus or self-drive by car rental. Both do-able.
