i'm actually quite greedy. with only 3 days and 2 nights available, i want to visit kl, penang and langkawi. i'm leaving next week. i'm not sure how can i squeeze all the things to visit/to do/ to eat in these places. can someone enlighten me? also, i hope to stay in somewhere convenient in these three places. (still considering either to stay a night in penang or langkawi) if time do not permit, i may opt kl out from the itinerary. just go penang and langkawi with a night stay each. sigh! so little time with so huge appetite.

hi ethel, with only 3d/2n you can only do penang... fi you include langkawi, it would be very tight with not much time for either... but it is do-able... travelling time will take up a large chunk of your time unless you drive yourself or fly... (assuming you are travelling from batu pahat)... the places to stay depends on your budget.. regards.chia

Penang - Gurney Drive for hawker food (Penang rojak, fried "mee sua", Lok-Lok, Penang prawn mee, Penang hae mee, etc) Langkawi - 1 night is really short as you may need to skip island hopping altogether. You may want to just enjoy yourself on the beach where you stay. As for accommodation, toss it up from the internet or when you reach, supposedly by ferry from Penang island, there is a row of travel booths where you can enquire about. COming back to Singapore from Langkawi, you may want to consider taking Silkair or does Airasia fly there too? Have fun and enjoy yourself, B

i am fickle minded indeed! i'm not going to langkawi since i can't do much stuff. will go the next time. this time, i will depart fr sin to kl and stay for one night. and then proceed to penang the next day. stay a night and will return to sin the day nite by coach. so is cititel penang a reasonably gd place/price to stay? i'm afraid of bedbugs. or is there better option.

take a look at my hotel tips. you can either go for Cititel or City Bayview ( I think more expensive ) or the cheaper Hotel Malaysia . They are all walking distance from Penang's tourist spots and yummiest food Check my restaurant tips ,, they have tips on some of the best hawker stalls. Personally I dont recommend Gurney Drive because it caters mainly to tourist so , the things are not so tasty ( all the best hawkers food are not found there ) and they can be very pricey if they know you are tourist . Some are really unscrupulous. And because there are too many tourist and people there , they fry or cook for 3 or 4 people at one go ...making it not so tasty . Except for the rojaks, pasembur and cuttle fish with kangkung which can be found in abundance there ( number of stalls selling the same thing ) I think Lorong Selamat should be good , but if you stay Cititel dont miss the Ayam MAdu in Kayu restaurant and the Cuttle fish Mee Goreng in Esplanade. nearby Char Koay Teow which is quite okay would be end of penang road , the coffee shop selling Penang Famous Chendol . Good journey keny

hahhaha ...well I guess the one in Penang road is trying to be a little creative ...isnt that cool ? I noticed that Thai / Filipino Fried Koay Teow usually have nuts ...maybe the influence there ....hahahah.... Old man stall ? I thought the 2 Char Koay Teow stall, opposite each other are two arrogant ladies , I think my mind is failing me .....ya also in Lorong Selamat dont miss the Teow Chew Meng Restaurant ( its infamous RM10 mee suah tow / porridge / koay teow thing with lots of stuff like fish, small abalone, big prawns, sea cucumber, cuttle fish and most importantly is No- MSG added. The "Too Boh Sweei " ( Octopus ) is a must ! The ais kacang is also not bad in the coffee shop rgds

to really enjoy yourself without getting too exhausted, i would suggest you visit penang and langwaki. 1. spend a night in penang. you can opt for berjaya or shangri-la or any other hotels smack in the middle of georgetown. there you'll get to enjoy the great local food 2. the next morning, take a ferry to langkawi. depending on your budget, there are lots of different resorts there. can also go island hopping and duty free shopping.
