Walk the area of central and check the side streets. Good rental about 7000 bahts plus utilities. I wrote earlier on this and it disappeared

A hotel around 500-600 baht will do for you.   This includes maid service, clean sheets, cable service and you can run the A/C all the time you are in.    Many have free wifi too. Many hotels in the Soi Boukhaw area in the 500-600 baht range.
Charlie Place.    Cheap buffet breakfast across the little soi at Diana Dragon Hotel.

Katesiree House.   (Near Charlie Place above.)    Many cheap hotels along this same soi.

Off season you can find many places with a walk-in.   Apex Hotel is on the main street Sai Song and easy to get to and cheap.   Spend one night and check out other places in person.   This hotel also has a morning buffet breakfast available too.
