Thank you for your information regarding the metro from gare du nord to argentine. would it be easier and or more pleasent to travel by bus ? if so, what number bus would i need to take from gare du nord, and where is the bus stop situated please. we are so looking forward to our trip, so any help you can give would be appreciated.
I am glad the previous information was helpful.. If you look at the ratp routeplanner again: ratp.fr/itineraires/en/ratp/... you will see that you can search for your route choosing 'bus, tramway' only. You can take bus (sometimes two buses, depending on departure time) for most of the journey, but you will need to walk at the beginning and the end. The routeplanner will even give you details of how to get to the bus stop if you click 'see detail' under the small walking figure.

Whether the bus would be more pleasant depends very much on the time of day you are travelling. If you have large bags I'd generally advise against using a bus simply because of the hassle of handling bags on a potentially crowded vehicle.

no problem its my world home office area will be there next week. The bus for a visitor is always better, you see more than underground. Plenty of buses in Paris. in fact right at argentine you take bus 73 and it goes to pl de la concorde and beyond passing by alll the interesting tourist area for a regular bus fare, a bargain. now to get from nord to argentine;you can take bus 43 at gare du nord and it takes you to Magenta, there take bus 30 to CDG Etoile. you can take bus 56 from nord to porte de clignancourt, and there take the bus PC3 to Port Maillot both are within five minutes of argentine walking. or walk over to gare de l'est take the bus 30 above and go to CDG Etoile to walk five minutes to argentine. all very easy trip under 45 minutes. the site for Paris to take it with you the itinerary is ratp.fr/itineraires/fr/ratp/... hope it helps

CDG= charles de gaulle, Etoile where the arc de Triomphe is, past it is avenue de la grande armée the next metro stop is argentine then porte maillot. all very easy walkable. buses have luggage area on these routes. Use by tourists and business people alike ::)
