Hello , We are a party of 3 , 2 adults and 15 yrs old daughter searching for a hotel in Paris for 3 nights in August. One room will suffice , if its fairly central to main attractions thats a bonus but we are happy to use the metro etc to get around. When I say reasonably priced we are willing to pay 100 to 120 per night. This will be our first trip to Paris - we head south to Avignon for the remainder of the trip. thanks in advance . Geraldine
Is that 100-120 euro per night?

Thank you. You would be surprised how many posters give figures in their own currencies, so it was necessary to ask. It has been too long since i was in Paris for me to make specific recommendations. Other Vt-ers will soon be along to do so. in the meantime, I suggest you have a browse through www.booking.com and www.venere.com both of which are reliable sites with extensive listings used by many Vt-ers. You can also look at the (sort-able) hotel listings and reviews from Vt-ers on the Paris travel guide here: Paris Hotels

As with any reviews, look at the date of the review, as hotels can and do change! So, if a hotel is recommended in 206, then it would be necessary to take your research further.

Try Etap'Hotel. Rooms very basic, modern, clean, each one accomodating 3 guests.

IN August you are going to want to make sure you have air conditioning. I was able to book the Crowne Plaza on Republique thru hotwire last month for just slightly over your targeted price. Place de Republique is a mess right now as they are completely refurbishing the Place in front of the hotel. However, there was not any noise. It is a crap shoot with hotwire, but you can get a pretty good idea which hotels are being offered. It worked for me on my last trip. Karl

Also note you will probably have to pay a small surcharge for the 3rd person in the room.

I stayed at a place called the Familia Hotel, a smallish 3 star on Rue des Ecoles. Easy walking distance to Notre Dame. Great access to Metro/RER, though i would advise getting off at St Michel and walking. I see they have a triple available but that is more expensive. I have stayed there twice and had good experiences there, it is not luxury but very convenient and great location

Thanks to all for suggestions - has anyone stayed in ElDorado, rue des Ecoles ?? I am being offered a triple room - which is proving difficult to find .. Its' description sounds 'quaint ' but it is central ( I think !!) I may be going for it. At the end of the day - we plan to be out for most of the days and evenings . I am new to the forum so apologies if I am not reaching all who replied. Thanks a lot for your time - much appreciated...

I love the Hotel Esmeralda. It was an old (1640) coaching Inn and is directly across from Notre Dame on rue St. Julien Lr Pauvre. They have an adjacent building with family rooms. It's also only a block or two from the RER station from CDG airport.
