I am interested in giving my DSLR a Paris workout with some professional coaching. I have seen quite a few photography tours listed but none seem to stand out from the others. Has anyone taken one of these and can anyone recommend one in particular?
never take a tour of any kind, but plenty of those in Paris. I cant recommend either but can give you some leads for you to check on. this site has them, photographers, given lessons as well, the whole load. http://www.shoot-the-city.com/index.php And you can contact any of these I am sure you will find a match photosapiens.com/photographe... the next step is to ask the question to the Paris tourist office en.parisinfo.com/contact-us-... hope it helps your search

Hi, VT member aussirose and her husband did a tour with this feller last September when over for the Paris VT meet and were most impressed. http://www.parissetmefree.com You can read what she says here : "Photo tour with Parissetmefree" - Paris Things to Do Tip by aussirose I personally did a themed tour with "jeveuxetrephotographe". They do various themed half-day tours where you have the reins as well, either b + w, Doisneau etc etc. Costs about 85€ for half day. Check out all they do here : www.jeveuxetrephotographe.com/

I can't recommend a tour but I suggest that you visit the catacombs of Paris. Many of the miles of natural/man-made tunnels are filled with the bones of dead who were removed from the Paris graveyards hundreds of years ago. The skulls and the femurs are laid in such a way as to build walls within the labyrinth. Obviously, you are not permitted to explore such a maze by yourself ---but the tour guides undersstand that you will stop to take photos. Good luck with your DSLR! Have fun!
