Can anyone help! One of my fathers whole life (74 years..) dream has been a visit to Eiffel, Now they are leaving (4th of June) and they didn´t book weeks ahead like I have been telling them to do. Now he tried to book, but first available tickest are for 19th! They will stay only 8 nights, so it wont help. They tried to book a bustour with tickets to Eiffel, all sould out. They tried to book a cruise with tickets, but it says that the tickets aren´t to Eiffel, they are to Tower Montparnasse at the moment. We know (it was told at the towers page) that the second lift is out of order, and they said one needs to wait 2 hours at line if you don´t have tickets.. Poor parents.. Is there any way to get the tickets witch we have not noticed yet? Any help would be nice.
I am not a local but have been to Paris twice and both times went to the top of the tower. Paris can get quite smoggy and therefore IMO it is best to go on the day of clear weather and a bit of wind to really enjoy the view from the top. Neither of the 2 visits did we have to wait very long (20 minutes maybe), so suggest you don't worry too much - just go and if there's a queue, well 74 years is much longer than the queue - LOL

Thanks Fugu. I checked that, but I think the prices were over their budget sadly.. I have also been there twice, first time I waited for an hour, second time we had tickets and walked staright in. Of course they will wait 2 hours if they have to, but waiting on the line is not so fun you would do that if there is any way to awoid it. ;) My mother is quite "sporty", but I´m not sure if father would like to walk all the way. Last summer when we went the lift didn´t stop at first at all, so would need to walk all the way to second, if that is so. It is said here that the waiting time is now over 2 hours because of the use of only one lift: eiffel-tower.com/preparing-y... Guess they just have to wait then. Is the lines any shorter at some time of the day? At our first visit we went around 12, and waited that one hour.

well its packed indeed was there today, it seems there is no crisis lol!!! you can buy tickets at any FNAC Champ-Elysées or Virgin Megastore in Champs-Elysées or elsewhere, they are allocated tickets and maybe they have some left otherwise its the tour eiffel itself there are some other agencies but they all do the same as above. Hope it helps and good luck

O.k. I will tell them to ask from those places. The on line tickets are the ones witch are not awailable at all for their days. They are still trying to find some sightseeing tour or boat tour with ticlets included, but seems that all of them have now only tickets without the tower. One boat company said they have photos taken from the tower because of that :D Like it would cover not getting in! The tower has been the only thing my father wants to get in at Paris, other places he seems to go just because my mother wants. So they must get there even if they need to stay 2h in line. My father waits more their another week driving around war places..

yes, just for clarification, I was by there today, not been up in a while lol!!! just need to drive in front of it on my life's visits to Paris. I am now in Versailles(my house) yes the demands are inmense, this is the second time recently that passed by it and its full as ever...the weather may have to do with it as we have 28C and sunny clear. The stores is the only chance if they dont have it nobody else will. Keep trying thus. cheers ps by the way maybe the glut is because one lift elevator is not working, waits of 2 hrs are expected. As well as their online ticket office is saturated not working any more tickets. I was thinking worth a try ,contact the tour Eiffel and tell them about your father wishes, they might come thru for you tour-eiffel.fr/contacter-la-... in French but normal info page if need help let me know hope it helps

yes, it is because of the one lift not in use. I just noticed it at the morning, they hadn´t seen it. They don´t speak so good English (and none French). There was German page (they speak it quite well) for the tower, but it wont help now, when ther are no tickets. I think they just need to try from the shops. I can´t help them as much as I would like to, because we are leaving to Madrid day after they leave to Paris, and must do my own planning also ;) But they will keep on trying! And thanks for offering the help. I will see if they need some more! Merci!

if they go with the stair there is close to almost no waiting, of course it is quite a climb (668 stairs to second floor)
