Hi! We will be going to paris for four days during this June. I understand that there is city tour bus that can hop around the city. I would like to know is it worth it? Where to buy the tickets? Thanks
We haven't taken either of the two tour buses but they look like fun. We walk nearly everyplace or hop the Metro or local bus to an area and then walk. Both bus tours look like lots of fun if you don't know the city. It would give you a good idea of where everything is and then you could walk or take the city bus or Metro after you got your bearings. Here are the two web sites: parislopentour.com/paris-acc... carsrouges.com/content/circu... You can book either online or probably buy tickets at FNAC stores or the tourist office in Paris. Probably easiest to buy online if you're sure you want to do a particular tour. One thing we do enjoy and do it nearly every time we're in Paris is the Batobus. It is a boat that serves as a bus on the Seine river. There are 8 stops and you get off and wander around and return to go to the next stop. We use if for transportation on one or two days that we're going to be doing things reasonably near the river. There isn't a commentary but they do announce the stops so you know what you are seeing . . . and you can stay on the entire way and then use it as a hop-on hop-off boat. Here's the web site: http://www.batobus.com/ You can buy the Batobus tickets at any of the eight stops. I don't know about the Paris L'Open bus nor the Cars Rouges bus but if you don't want to purchase online, your hotel could tell you where to get them . . . or just go to the tourist office in Paris. Have a great time.

You might consider one of the River Seine boat trips as an alternative. The views from the river are lovely and you will see quite a lot in that hour or so. Most of the central "sights" are walkable - apart from Sacre Coeur and the catacombes for example. If you walked from, say, Notre Dame to The Eiffel Tower through the Tulleries Gardens, you could see loads of the main sights. The bus tour does help you get orientated though - but with a decent map you won't go far wrong. Half the pleasure of Paris is finding things along the way!

Good lad, the way to go. Actually I was back in Paris last week and did the walk from Sacré Coeur to the Louvre, but it's certainly not for everybody.

we had three days in paris and all we did was the hop on hop off and santa couer. it takes a long time to go round on the bus. As a consequence we did not visit the Louvre and the Luxembourgh Gardens which looked lovely from the bus. In hindsight, my sister and I thought we should have figured out what we wanted to do and just found our own way there. We travelled the subway to get to the city centre and found it easy to navigate. so its just a thought, do some home work and it may work out better to find your own way. We thought the bus may have been the best option because we thought the language barrier may have been too much for us however we found French people lovely.
