I am sure you will get a lot of replies to this question. If you fancy something a little bit different but worth while, I recommend a trip to the catacombe: Place Denfert-Rochereau (Metro Station: Denfert-Rochereau).

Hard question to answer, given that we do no know you or or wife's tastes. Three days is a very, very short time to see even the major highlights. I would skip the catacombs, posted about, given the three day limit (I've been there). Go to Ile de la Cite - and visit Notre Dame and Ste Chapelle. Take a ride on the Seine on one of the tour boats, the Louvre will certainly take 1/2 day, if not more, the Musee d'Orsay is worth a few hours too, if you are into the Impressionists. The Eiffel Tower, stroll up the Champs Ellyse and perhaps walk up the Arc de Triomphe. A bit of strolling around, and your three days will be done.

Agreed, hard to give you a good answer without knowing exactly what you like but let me approach this 2 ways. 1) I'll give you what my wife and I did for 3 1/2 days in Paris and 2) since you are the same age as my oldest son what I think he would enjoy Our Trip: Arrived in Paris mid-day. Went on a guided 3 1/2 hour bike ride. They had a program at Notre Dame at 9:00 pm that we attended after dinner. Walked along the Seine River at night before heading back to the hotel. Day 2 - Entire Day at Palace of Versailles. Dinner also in Versailles Day 3 - Metro to Montmarte area. Visited Sacre Coeur and walked around the area. Metro to main part of Paris, walked along other side of Seine River and then went to Musee d' Orsay. Walked more after trip to museum, saw Paris Hilton emerging from restaurant followed by press and then ate in 7th A. Took another metro to an area close to the Eiffel Tower and saw the Tower Light Show at 9:50 p.m. Day 4 - Inside tour of Notre Dame, spent 3 hours at the Louvre, walked along the Champs-Elysees, and had dinner near the Eiffel Tower. Plan 2 - My son would also enjoy the bike ride. It was a good way to see areas that we went back to and got a little history on the side. Take a walk or boat ride on the Seine. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower (but you will have to wait in lines). We didn't do this as we have plenty of tall buildings in Chicago and we saw the expanse of Paris for the vantage point at Montmarte. You can do Paris in 3 days two different ways. Speed through everything so you can see a lot or pick 2 or 3 events a day and really absorb those areas. I would opt for the 2nd option and hope that you will be back sometime in the future. Grab quick bites to eat for breakfast and lunch and have a nice sit down dinner at night if you can.

Hi Chris We had a 3 day stopover May 2007 and managed to see many of the major sites. For us our accommodation location was important as we could easily walk to many of the main attractions within 10 minutes. We stayed in the Latin Quarter, opposite Sorbonne university, only 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Seine River, Pantheon etc. Metro stations minutes away we took the train to Versailles Palace, 40 minutes, also on another day the metro to Sacre-Coeur, with Montmatre artist village less than 5 minutes walk from Sacre Coeur. Our visit to Versailles Palace was extraordinary, Palace , Gardens etc. We visited in May and the gardens, fountains etc fantastic. You will have a wonderful time in Paris. You are welcome to view my page to see what we did in 3 days, much more than is on my page. Good Luck, Mike

When my family com to visit me we almost always jump on the batobus. Thre are 8 stops which you can do in a day at a push, providing you do not spend too much time looking around each stop or visiting the various museums etc. You can buy the tickets at one of the 8 stops. I think they are around 15 euros each for the day. You stop at loads of the famous places like the eiffel tower, saint-germain-des-pres, Notre Dame etc. If you like flowers, I highly recommend you take a look at Jardain des Plantes, the largest botanical garden in France (has a small zoo too but never been). Le Marais is one of the oldest districts in Paris and definitely worth a look. You can find info on this (and batobus stops) at www.parisbyphoto.com under free guided tours. I guess a lot of it depends on what you want to do and see. Paris by night is also cool, but then you will be very tired during the day. A walk along the champs elysée will keep you busy for some time, depending on how much you like shopping in overpriced stores.
