I'll stay 3 days at the end of April and I'd like to stay in a design Hotel. Do you have any suggestions of hotels or website to book ?
I know I may be stupid, but what is a "design hotel"?

www.designhotels.com Looks like a collection of ponsy hotels in various locations - modern, swish, stylish, etc. I did a sample of 3 nights in April and they came-out around 405 - 1100 euros. I assume that is bed and breakfast. Personally I spend more time in the city than in the hotel so these do not suit my own preferences.

We stayed at the Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg before it had its makeover from pretty period decor to a "design " hotel so I can only comment on the location (excellent - 2 minutes walk from the Luxembourg Gardens, very central ), staff (most helpful), breakfast (good, fresh, - served in the vaulted basement). Like most small European hotels, the rooms are small. The courtyard was a real bonus in one of the hottest summers on record. http://www.hotel-luxembourg.com/

Was also wondering what was a design hotel but I guess it is along the lines of boutique hotels. The Hotel Select in Place Sorbonne would fit the bill. Great location, great hotel and reasonable rates for a "design" hotel in Paris. selecthotel.fr/uk_content/ho... I stayed there once and loved it. One of the best buffet breakfasts I've had in Paris

The Artus Hotel in St. Germain would fit that bill. It is perfectly located in my favorite part of Paris. http://www.artushotel.com/e/hotel/ In Burgundy thre would be the boutique hotel owned by the actress Leslie Caron, the Auberge La Lucarne Aux Chouettes. http://www.lesliecaron-auberge.com/

Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg as mentioned before is a great choice and it fits totally the definition of design, boutique hotel. Check their website and you'll get the perfect idea of what it is: http://www.hotel-luxembourg.com/ Other design hotel I know of: Hotel Ares Eiffel, I like it very much and I am not the only one; ranks No. 4 out of 1 800 hotels in paris on tripadvisor; I like particularly the quality of all the materials used in the room and it is located in a very quiet street: http://www.ares-paris-hotel.com/ Hotel Le Notre Dame Paris, in front of the cathedral Notre Dame de Paris; entirely decorated by Christian Lacroix; I know, somehow his style is extravagant much the result if colourful, harmonious and glamour; the view of the Cathedral and the Seine is a killer: http://www.hotelnotredameparis.com/ Hotel Bellechasse, next to Musee d'orsay; another hotel designed by Christian Lacroix, totally different style, unique, awesome: http://www.lebellechasse.com/
