I am visiting parga on a cruise should I book trips or stay in town for the day many thanks visiting on 1st september
Parga is quite small town, and there are quite a few things that you could do independently - walk up to the castle, get a water taxi to one of the beaches, go on the land train up to Ali Pashas castle, walk around the little streets, have lunch etc. You could also go further afield independently with trips from the harbour to the springs of Acheron. It probably depends on whether you want to chill out and enjoy Parga itself or want to see more of the area. The one thing I would say is that the town beach got very crowded when we were there when the cruise ship visited, so it may be worth getting a water taxi to one of the other beaches, depending on how long you've got in town.

If you want to book a trip I would recommend a visit to the Acheron river. You can walk up the river through a beautiful gorge. But if you are just wanting to stretch your legs after cruising then stay in Parga and walk up to the Castle. The views are brilliant up there and there is a smashing Cafe where you can relax outside with a coffee or beer and admire the view and also watch the birds in the surounding trees. The walk up to the castle through the little narrow streets takes you past some very good and interesting shops. Also if you have time - the tourist train that goes from the beach end of the harbour is very good value and takes you on a nice ride to Ali Pasha's castle a few miles from Parga.

If you are in Parga for one day only you should definitely stay there. It's a lovely town with lots of things to see.
