    • How to get to this Address

      Bùzios May 6, 2013 at 4:43 AM

I am leaving Buzios tommorrow morning. Do not have an clear idea on how to get to this apartment in the area of Rio or Copacabana: The owner or manager wrote the following information: Se você chegar pelos Aeroportos Santos Dumont ou Galeão, pode pegar o ônibus "FRESCÃO" que o deixará a 50 metros do apto e da sede da Agência, onde retirará as chaves.
I am in Buzios right now. I am planning to take a taxi that will take to bus station, Auto Viacao 1001 from here to the airport at Rio de Janeiro. According to the directions given to me by the owner do I take the Frescao to my final destination? Will the Frescao take my two pieces of luggage? Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

    • Hotels in Rio March 2014

Rio de Janeiro Apr 20, 2013 at 6:46 AM

I'm trying to book a three or four star beachfront hotel on 2 March, 2014 for 9 nights without much success. I appreciate that the beginning of my holiday coincides with the end of the carnival, but only backpackers hostels or top end hotels are available. Is it possible that hotel rooms that far ahead haven't gone on sale yet, or am I being naive and the hotels are truly sold out? I have booked one room in the Barra beach area which has a full cancellation policy, but it's a bit further out that I would have liked and a bit over budget: it's my 'Plan B' and I am hoping to cancel it and get a nearer, cheaper room nearer the time. Is this realistic?

      Some questions about Rio

Rio de Janeiro Apr 23, 2013 at 3:01 PM

      Hello,

I´m going to visit Rio in three days. I would like to ask two last questions :
      1. At the International airport, I need to change a little money for the bus, what`s the best change ATM or a change office ?
If I draw out money in ATM airport, is the same comission that in Rio city ATM or is bigger ?
      2. In the weekend, I would like to visit Pao de Azucar or Corcovado but I think there`ll a lot of people. Which one is less crowded ?

Thank you for your help. Kind regards

I am travelling to Paraty for 2 nights in Jan 2011 & need somewhere to stay. I think a Pousada is probably my best bet as I am 50 yrs old. Any suggestions for somewhere that isn't too expensive (it gets expensive when you travel alone as you have to pay for 2 people all the time). I have seen a suggestion for the Pousada Provence & have e mailed them for prices. I can't find any reviews on them? Any help would be much appreciated.

by Dimez Online Now Apr 9, 2010 at 3:26 AM

Hello, I am going in September and October to Brasil and the plan is to visit somewhere half October Parati and some other places between Rio and Sao Paulo. I read about the flooded streets in Parati, is this nice to see? And what is the change that it will flood with a full moon, is this every full moon or sometimes? I found that the 23 of October is full moon in Parati, so would it be worth to schedule our trip in such a way that we are in Parati that day? And another question, how are the buses around Parati, is it easy to visit Angra dos reis and Ihla Grande? We donot know exactly what we want to visit in that area, but is everything reachable with the bus?

by osullic Online Now Jul 30, 2006 at 4:47 AM

Hi guys, I know this is an unusual request... I was in Parati with my girlfriend last year, and we came across a street stall selling really nice hand-painted bead jewellery. I can't remember exactly where the stall was, but it was somewhere near Praca da Matriz. I don't think it would be too hard to come across just wandering around. Anyway, my girlfriend's birthday is coming up, and I'd really like to give her one of the necklaces that were being sold at this street stall. The necklaces are just strings of differently-coloured, brightly-painted beads with flowers, etc painted on the beads. They're really cheap, but really nice and it's more for the sentimental value than anything. Is there any chance someone in Parati would be willing to buy one of these necklaces for me? Of course, if you agree, I will post you the money first. I would be forever in your debt! If someone thinks they might be able to help me out, please get in contact and we can sort out the details. Thanks a million!! Colin
