Looking for advice for traveling to the Capital of Paraguay

Advise on good location for hotel, etc. We are looking at at home to buy that is about 1 hour away form the city. Big question...are they "American friendly"? It is such a beautiful country and what I have read is that the people are just as beautiful! Any information would be greatly appreciative. Thank-you!!

Concerning if is "American friendly". I can say: the South Americans they love foreigners and doesn't matter where you come from, you will be welcome.
