Pangkor Island Beach Resort

by virtualling Online Now Aug 16, 2005 at 9:30 PM

Please share your experience on this place as I'll be going there end of this month. How's the staff/ service? I was told by the hotel that I'd need to get a cab to go out for food/ stores if I wanna. And the fare is about RM25. That's steep. I'd like to hear your opinion on your visit there.
Thanks lots!

    Hi Ling!

I stayed in Pangkor Island Beach Resort when it was still managed by Pan Pacific in 2001. Overall, its a pleasant experience - friendly staff & good services. My only compain is the resort is located quite out of the place - it is in a secluded part of Pulau Pangkor with its own jetty and private beach (Pantai Puteri). Definitely you need to hire a cab or bike to go out for food or shopping at the local town. Then again, the resort's location could be a plus point if you want some privacy during your holiday.

    hhi ling...

there is nthing really to see on pangkor island... just rent a taxi for the day and you will be able to see the whole island... mini great wall of china, dutch fort, pasir bogok... lunch/dinner at the pangkor village where the ferries terminal is and shopping for drienmd seafood at the same time... it's about all...

pibr is the former pan-pacifc resort and is far from pangkor village... there is a direct ferry from lumut to the resort, so don't miss the timing...

    regards.chia

    Hi Sha,
    Thanks for the forum reply.
I've been to Pangkor. But was ages ago.
8 years ago I think. I did the whole excursion in Pangkor.
    Rented a kapchai and all.

Thing is, I just need to know if getting to the makan places from the resort
would be difficult. How dichu get the van rental & how much was it?

Hope all's super cool with you.

Yes, its quite difficult to go to makan places from the resort. The nearest makan place is a warung/small restaurant close to the resort's staff quarters. However, choice of food here is quite limited and it also close quite early.
